Boxed In
A new Daryl & Co and Half Moon co-production

Boxed In, a story about being made to feel naughty, just because the rules don’t make sense.
A show for 3 - 6 year olds and their grown ups.

We are incredibly pleased and excited to announce Boxed In our new co-production and upcoming tour with Half Moon Theatre!

Boxed In is a playful show for early years about (mis)understanding the rules! The shows  goes into rehearsals in January before going on a national tour from 1st February - 23rd March 2024!

This new show picks up on where our hugely successful show A Square World, (which was a story about physically disabling barriers), left off. Boxed In focuses on those unspoken, unseen, invisible and disabling barriers of attitudes, etiquette, and social behaviour.

We’re super excited to be able to bring Boxed In to life with support from Arts Council England, it's a show that is dear to our hearts as it's been in development for sometime now (thanks to the pandemic).  It started its life back in 2019 and has been through several phases of R&D which began with a residency at Globe Primary (Tower Hamlets) where we explored ‘Unspoken rules’ with children in partnership with Half Moon. The continued creative dialogue with young people has enabled them to become our creative partners in the creation of this work.

Boxed In will open at Half Moon Theatre on 1st February 2024 before heading off on a 7 week tour to theatres and Libraries across the country, all the dates can be found on our HERE

Boxed In is largely non-verbal and will be presented in a relaxed environment. It offers an exciting visual experience with a charming soundtrack, both filled with humour and fun, giving little ones and their grown-ups a way to think about how rules work and whether they work for everyone.

We’re super excited to be working with such a great creative team on this production, we have…….
Daryl - Director & performer
Jon Van Beek - Designer & performer
Dean Rodney JR & Rosie Ridgway - Composers
Siobhan Wedgeworth - Access & Inclusion officer

We’ll be updating the show progress on our social media channels, so do keep an eye out to find out how the show develops!
